As a Snow College student, you have the right to know the following information:
What financial aid programs are available and how to apply for them;
Procedures and deadlines for submitting the FAFSA and any additional forms for financial
aid;
All records and information submitted with your application for financial aid are
confidential, and is subject to legal requirements (FERPA) concerning disclosure of
such information, parents will need a student's permission to know any information
in a student's file even though some of the information was provided by the parent;
Cost of attendance and how financial need is determined;
The type and amount of assistance you will receive, and how and when you will be paid;
The eligibility criteria for awarding aid;
The terms and conditions of any loan you accept;
The job description and starting pay rate for any student job you accept;
How Satisfactory Academic Progress is determined;
That you can appeal your Satisfactory Academic Progress status;
Requirements in the case of withdrawal, refunds, and repayment of financial aid;
Your financial aid package can be reviewed upon your request if you or your family’s
financial circumstances have changed or there is change in your family do to death
or divorce;
Campus security, crime statistics and all other Student Right to Know information.
As a student, you have the responsibility to:
Come to college financially prepared. Establish plans to meet your educational and
living expenses (Financial Aid is only one resource that will not cover your entire
cost of education);
Obtain and complete any necessary financial aid application forms and submit them
in a timely manner. June 1st is the first priority deadline for fall semester;
Read, understand, and retain copies of all information and/or forms that are sent
to you and all other documents you sign;
To regularly check your Snow College student email account for correspondence from
Snow and the Financial Aid & Scholarships Offices;
To provide complete and correct information. Reporting false or misleading information
may result in you being fined up to $20,000, sent to prison, or both;
To contact the Student Financial Aid Office if you want your loan reduced or canceled.
Once you have completed the Federal Direct Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note, and
completed Loan Entrance Counseling if you are a first-time borrower. You must contact
our office in writing within 14 days of the disbursement if you want the loan reduced
or canceled, unless a refund of loan funds has already been disbursed by the Snow
College Business Office;
To meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress policies and standards of Snow College
in order to maintain financial aid eligibility;
To attend and complete all of the classes, until the end of the semester, for which
you are enrolled.
Register and attend classes for the number of hours required for your aid disbursement;
To report to the Snow College Financial Aid Office any money you receive from sources
outside of Snow College (i.e. Rotary Scholarships, Lion's Club Scholarships, employee
reimbursement. other scholarships, Rehabilitation funds etc.);
Read, understand, and retain copies of all information and/or forms that are sent
to you and all other documents you sign;
Comply with the provisions of any aid received, as well as any promissory note(s)
and all other agreements you sign;
Keep the Snow College Registrar's office informed of any change of address, name or
marital status while you are a student, and until all student loans have been repaid
in full;
Perform satisfactorily in any work assignments accepted through student employment
programs.
